Thinking of buying a game and want to see if playing one is as fun as I remember. I've played both the Atari Flash game and the MAME versions but they kind of suck using a mouse or keyboard.

Anyone know of a place where I can play a cabinet game in SoCal? Close to San Diego would be great. I'd be willing to pay if it's in a private collection.

Does anyone have any comments on how the game feels when playing the MAME version with a SpinTrak spinner? How does it compare to the original?

Thanks!

I have a MAME setup with a SpinTrak and an original Tempest. The SpinkTrak works very well for playing Tempest, or any spinner game for that matter. The biggest issue for me with the MAME rig is that emulated vector games don't really compare to the display of a vector monitor. But, the MAME cab got me by until I got a real one.

I used an original Tempest spinner on my MAME rig - couldn't imagine playing without the "brrrr" noise. :)

Agree on the vector graphics issue. I might also go the MAME route to get by or because I don't have the room for multiple cabinets.

Thanks for the info!
