Tempest problems / Optical issue [solved/closed]

Grrr. So, I decided to pull the Happ board from the roller and put it onto the spinner. It doesn't fit. It may be functionally compatible but it's not compatible to mount onto the spinner. Holes don't line up and to even get it close would require dismantling the whole spinner and changing the way the set screws hold in the optical wheel.

Order cancelled with Twisted Quarter. Hopefully.

I managed to get hold of a third optic board that performs better than the other two. This one still gets overwhelmed in the counter clockwise a little bit but the game is very playable.

Given that three optic boards all acted differently I'm going to conclude that the IR receivers are the issue here. This is a newly upgraded spinner with the brass bushings and it appears as though weak/failing optics can't handle the rate of change when you first really crank that spinner.

I have ordered some H22A1s to rebuild the first two optic boards. The third one is probably better off left alone.

Now I'm not sure if the Pokeys ever really were an issue, but since it's working 100% right now, I'm not going to poke the bear (no pun intended).

Consider this one closed. Thanks for all the help, guys, always appreciated.
