Like that is something new LOL, Posted on another site, looking for advice and help...
Have my Tempest apart, Replacing a few chips and looking at the previous work it looks like they either used acid core solder or just used too much flux.. When I heat up the previous work, 1, it smells different, 2, it bubbles up and smokes. could it be acid core? if so , when I desolder it, I need to clean the board before resoldering it, If I'm thinking right, or is there more I need to do? Looks like 10 to 12 sockets need to be pulled.. Thanks. Mike
