Tempest mouse cleanup and tube brightness questions....

I noticed a few mouse droppings in my Tempest cab as I was working on it, my first experience with them. I gave it a good vaccuming and got them out. While I was digging around in my marquee area, I saw where the mouse was peeing. I was thinking about cleaning the area with some lysol 4-1 wipes. The cab does not smell at all, just the normal old cab/wood smell. I think the water damage to my cardboard bezel may be mouse pee and I plan to spray paint it black on both sides. Does this sound pretty reasonable? Maybe use some latex paint on the interior pee area after the wipes?

I also noticed that the smoked glass is really dark on Tempest. Since color vector tubes are very rare, I lowered the brightness to the least acceptable level to try and conserve my tube a little. Is it crazy to replace the smoked glass with clear just to try and give the tube a little easier life from here on out? The only location it'll ever be in is my arcade, on for a few hours at a time during the week and turned off and unplugged after that.

Just leave the smoked glass, it gives vector games a crisp look on the screen. Just make sure you turn down the brightness just a little below where the vector mapping lines disappear.

Is there any way to open the marquee area from the front to make cleanup easier? Atari used a strange way to get to it, a shelf that is only accessible from the back of the game.

EDIT Nevermind, I found a thread about it:

Thanks Frizz!
