Using a hex head allen wrench or drive tool, loosen and remove the three fasteners on the front of the game holding the glass retaining bracket in place (top of cabinet). I think it is a 3/16". Carefully remove smoked glass and set aside in safe place. With a flat head screwdriver, remove any staples holding cardboard monitor bezel in place and set aside. Go to back of game and remove back door. Undo small bolt at bottom left of monitor holding monitor in place to bracket mounted to wooden shelf. (If still there) Unplug wiring harness from monitor (15 pin connector and smaller connector)
Go back to front of game and loosen 4 bolts holding monitor in place. You may need to reach thru coin door to hold a couple of the nuts holding the bolts in place. Gently rock/slide monitor forward until you can get a good grip on frame of monitor. In one smooth pull, remove monitor from game and attempt to put hand inside the cutout on the side of the frame to ensure you don't drop monitor. Set monitor on ground and
DON'T NECK THE TUBE.
Done.
This was all done from memory. If you find the monitor won't come out, check your work and see if I forgot something. You should look on line for the Tempest manual (try crazykong.com) and get an idea of what is ahead. Not too hard to do.
