Uh...how in the heck does the Tempest marquee come off? I've removed the 4 screws from the top...I've removed the grill and bezel holder below...what now?

After what happened to the monitor your marquee is scared to let you handle it.

pull from the top of the marquee. you just have to pull a little harder than you think, its stuck in there pretty well. good luck!

You're kidding, right? I've yanked on the damn thing multiple times to the point I thought I was going to break the glass under it...seriously.

Should I try to get a screw driver under something in the back? Are the front and top (where the screws go down in to the cab) connected or is that where they separate? Should I pull forward from the top of the marquee or pull up or what?

I 'really' don't want to break anything and that is how close I feel I am getting yanking on the damn thing.

I wish the damn manual showed an "exploded" view of the marquee front (it only shows the back).

that is strange, i know it was hard for me to take off but hmmmm....
you took off the 4 screws. try tugging back and fourth , and a little upward.
does it look like it could be painted or glued around were you took your screws off?

oh, did you remove the brackets underneath the marquee? that is holding your glass?
that could help.

Sure did...and it looks original up there... so the marquee is to be pulled FORWARD and out? Is the top attached to the front?

I just REALLY don't want to break the glass.

Hmmmm..... When you talk about the four screws, you mean the ones on the inside that you can access after you pull out the marquee light from the back?

On mine that's all I had to do, and the marquee lifts right out.

If you have and it still doesn't lift out easily, I am not sure what to tell you.... Maybe some clever individual did glue it in.

You need to remove the marquee light sled from the back and then remove the 4 screws from the inside. (if you haven't done that already) and then it should slide out.

Here's some pics of it.

Well gee...

Nope...I was talking about the 4 screws on the TOP of the cabinet that appear to hold NOTHING down. Thanks for the photo...I feel like a moron.

I was expecting something similar to Star Wars...screws on top then lift it out.

duh...

Yeah, it's kind of unique the way they did that one. I was stumped the first time as well.

Yeah, going in from the back is a pain, since I don't move my tempest, I left the screws out the last time and just lift the marquee off when I need to get to the light.

I really like the "sled" method of having the light and the speaker on one piece. Kangaroo, Centipede, and several others are like that and it makes things easy to lift one piece out to work on stuff.
