As ya people know, I'm a complete n00b when it comes to doing basic electronic checks, voltages, etc. I wouldn't know where to start. Also tried searching for similar prob, found nothing. So here it goes:

On occasion, usually after being powered for a few days (powered off at night though) straight, the graphics corrupt heavily during the demo attract screen and gameplay. Jumping around and generally grouping towards the center of the screen. High score and title screen appear normal, however. The machine also frequently sets to 40 credits upon being powered up.

Any ideas?

Pokey? I think that's a good place to start. You can try switching them and see if the symptoms change ( ie sound problems).

I've been working on a boardset that does the same thing after a while (30 minutes or so). I figure it's heat related, but the funny thing is that I can turn it off and right back on and it's fixed for a while.

Either way, I'm going to track it down this week, so I'll let you know what I find if you haven't fixed it by then.

Rebooting the machine occasionally works, but not always...

And yah, I feel it's heat related as well. I've been told it initially sounds like an A/R problem. But I'm not so sure about that...

sounds like its overheating. Mine did the same thing till it blew a few resistors on the power supply board. I replaced em both myself and all was well . DAMN MACHINE STILL IS AN OVEN !! That said only power it on when using it !! oh and I had to replace the coin counter as that blew too.
