Dean (herbertsmart) made it out to Phoenix and dropped off a Tempest that was given to me by Kalan. I just want to say thanks so much to both of you guys again! It's really really cool.

Dean also brought a Joust cab for Jawhn, so he came over to my place to pick that up.

Dean couldn't stay very long...he had to run to the other side of Phoenix to pick up a Golden Tee I believe he said. Jawhn and I went out to a local BBQ joint and had an early lunch after the game drop off....You missed out on a good one, Dean!!! It was good to meet you!

Jawhn split after we had lunch. Good seeing you again too, Jawhn!

I had to make an executive decision on where the machine was going to go. My pinball machine is in the living room which my wife has never been crazy about....but unfortunately she's currently in AL visiting her parents. :D So I had to make the tough call.

There was a perfect place next to the pinball machine, so that's where it went. She really picked the wrong time to go on a trip.

She gets back on Tuesday....so we'll just have to wait and see how that goes.

We powered the Tempest up....and it plays blind!!! So I just need to figure out the video problem and I'm on my way to having a mini arcade...heh heh.

Anyways....here's a few pics...

Thanks again guys!!!

that's a nice tempest, jim! glad to hear you finally got it. hopefully, your issue with the playing blind is easily fixable. post in the repair forum and someone'll point ya in the right direction to fixing it.

Tell her "with the Tempest in the house it makes the house much more cozy " , women like that word "cozy"

Really nice! Tempest is one of the best; enjoy!

I have to say that the best part of you post is seeing a short story about KLOVers helping each other out and enjoying the hobby. It's a welcome post with all the anger going on in other post today.

Thanks!

Heh heh....I was just in there playing the machine blind...I made it to the 3rd level (trust the force, Luke) after a couple of games....man those sounds and that spinner sure bring back some good memories.

Jawhn bought that Joust cab from Kalan....so no Frizz, Dean didn't sell your, I mean, his Joust. ;)

I wonder if putting a picture of the kids on top of the Tempest would make it "cozy." She might not even notice it....

man, that should be a new challenge. playing games blind, whether they play blind or with a blindfold.

Another great KLOV success story! I remember your first posts were for WTB Tempest. Congrats!

I've been poking around in the back, playing with some of the connectors...etc. I think I will be posting my first "Help....where do I start to try to fix this thing" post later today.

I really have no circuit board repair/soldering experience, so that kinda makes me nervous....I may try to find some local help for this on the first time.

Does anyone know of anyone in Phoenix that can do these types of repairs (it may need a cap kit possibly?).

I already started touching up some of the scratches on the black parts of the side art with Sharpee. I'm not touching the other colors....are black Sharpee touch ups frowned upon around here?!?!?!?

I figured that was kinda of an easy thing to do to make the machine a little bit more "cozy" ;) before the wife sees this thing. It does look better from a distance.

:D

I've used Sharpee's... if it looks better, it's an improvement in my opinion.

Great to see your Tempest is home, looks great next to the pinball:)
If the monitor is the problem, I would send the chassis to Chad at the arcadecup:cool: He has fixed 3 of my vector monitors.
