Well, The last true grail TEMPEST is outside in the truck, waiting for some strong backs to come over and help move her in.

Answered an ad on CL 2 hours away... Talked him down from $450 to $400 for a non-working Tempest. Showed up, looked her over [nice shape!] and replaced a fuse... She sprung to life :)

Offered to fix some boards for him in a Defender for trade.

Not a bad evening. Pics early next week.

Wow... so it really was a fuse this time. :D

Congratulations on the pickup! :beerchug: I'm hoping to get our recently acquired Tempest up and running today. :)

....and in Dallas.

They come around here in spurts... I was looking and couldn't find one and then was overwhelmed with options. Of course I bought the first one I could and a couple of the others were a bit nicer. At some point if I don't get a better cabinet, then I will just take this one down to the wood and restore it completely.

so did you buy it or are you trading the defender repair for it? and nice score! i think this is the first time i've ever heard of a 'needs a fuse' game just needing a fuse.

NICE! This is one I would still like to get.

It looks like you have your hands full with those two! They know right where to go huh....maybe if you do their chores for them, they just might let you play THEIR game. :)

You replaced a fuse on site and it started working? Glad it worked out for you, but there was a whole thread recently about fixing games when you go to buy them. One guy fixed a Ms Pac and then the guy jacked up the price instantly.

+1 on this for sure, but glad it worked out for you! Congrats on the pickup.

I hear you, and I say in some ways this world is self regulating [think Jonestown, Guyana]. I would hate to have driven 2 hours and not pick up a game, but I would refuse to do buisiness with a person that did what you describe; even at a personal loss.
