Picked up a grail this week. Games has an intermittent power on issue but is pretty clean and best of all the monitor works!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346696747.834914.jpg

Congrats! Love mine. Re-do Big Blue and possibly the ARII and you should be good to go.

Yep. Planning a parts order from Bob Roberts along with reflowing some of the header pins. At first glance it shouldn't be too bad to get working right and have some fun.

Tempest is probably the game I play most. I am bad enough at it, that the games are short, so I can usually slip in a game no matter how busy I am. :)

I have been in love with the cabinet design forever.

If you have the movie Night of the Comet, pop it in and watch Catherine Mary Stewart play some Tempest too!

Ugh, I know my acting hobby has eclipsed my arcade hobby when I read the title and think of Shakespeare before Atari :D Beautiful cabinet, congrats!!!

Had one w/ multi, sold both, and ended up missing it within a few months and buying another one and multi.

Giant waste of money on my part, but a testament to how great this game is.

How ironic. I've been trying to sell my Nice Tempest in MN for over 2 months. No issues whatsoever. Tempest is a great game but most are finicky as hell.

Congrats on the pickup.. it was my grail, I traded heavily for mine, and have not regretted it at all since. Game is awesome, one of the top10 best ever IMO, and no gameroom is truely complete without one.

(besides, is the gameroom ever REALLY complete?)

I agree. Some titles are must haves. Game play and cabinet art and design. They should be restored and preserved.

Yep, touchy

Got one today, and have trying to get it to turn on nicely. It worked fine at the sellers house, but now it starts up unable to play in free-play mode, and the monitor gets all weird and collapses when it goes to the attract screen. Previous owner said that the two pcb connectors needed to be in the sweet-spot, but after 120 tries, I am worried about killing this game just trying to get it to work. The monitor seems to be ok because it can display a nice picture some boots. Had to stop tyring because it was going to be the shortest owned game ever. Anybody else ever have this problem?
