SOLD

I'm selling off my mostly working Tempest. The cabinet is solid, with no water damage or anything like that. The art is all original, and still mostly nice (there are dings, as you would expect of a 30+ year old machine, but the gestalt is still pretty nice. There's a bit of pincushioning of the monitor, which you can see in the pictures.

The game plays okay most of the time, but it's been wigging out once in awhile - either resetting mid-game (after a beep), or doing weird stuff like playing but losing the parallax grid. A couple of times I've pulled the board and cleaned the edge connectors with Magic Eraser, and it's played perfectly for awhile... but it always comes back (it's been doing this for the last 2 or 3 years).

The price is $700, and I'll throw in a spare non-working board set for $50 if you'd like. (note that complete non-working Tempest PCBs tend to sell for $150 and up on ebay)

As usual, I'm willing to ship, but I'll favor selling to someone who can pick the game up in person. It's just quicker and easier for me.

Pictures to follow. pm me if you're interested.

Close up of the front, and some examples of the small wear here and there. Astute observers will see what T-shirt I was wearing while taking these pics

A couple images of the game turned on. I played a couple of games and shot a video of it playing normally, and then it actually went to flaky mode. The third shot shows what I'm talking about, with the ships coming at you but the grid lines missing. I tried to shoot a video of it flaking, but when I started up the next game, it played normally.

And to save a little time...

The only other games I currently have for sale are two Frogger cocktails. One is in very nice condition and is $400. The other the black vinyl was flaking off, so I stripped it off painted that part black. It's also missing the coin box. That one is $300. There are posts about both games here on KLOV.

But no, I don't want to sell Major Havoc or Food Fight or Tapper or any of the other few games I still have.
