I know we have discussed small vehicles for hauling games in the past. I thought I would add this to the mix.

I brought a Tempest over 60 miles in the back of a Honda Fit. The Fit is Hondas smallest car, only weighs about 2400lbs, and is powered by a 1.5 liter engine.
I could have used my Suburban like I usually do, but I measured, the game would fit, and I would save quite a bit on fuel over a 120+ mile round trip.

I wont say that all games will fit in there, I wont even say that most games will. But Tempest did, along with the hand truck to boot.
I believe that someone fit a fullsized Battlezone into one of these cars before as well, but I never saw a pic with the hatch closed.

That is awesome !!! I thought I'd stuffed a lot of things into VW golf's over the years but that's really quite the packing job there.

So was this the Tempest on the Salem CL?

Finish that 720 and I will tell you :)

Yep it was. Kinda strange pickup for me (again). I was instructed to meet the owners at the Thrillville amusement park. Thrillville is a place I have never heard of, and now I know why. As far as I can tell, in the dark of the night, this was more of an abandoned amusment park than anything else.

So here I am, at night, waiting just past the gates, in an abandoned amusement park that also happens to be the entrance to a trailer park. I call the phone number and they tell me," wait there, well come get you" mmmmkay. A few minutes later a Jeep Cherokee with 3 people inside, pulls up and one says "follow us". So I follow through what seems like endless rows of mobile homes, some have campfires outside, others are lit from within by the glow of TV sets. The road gets narrower and narrower as we finally pass all the mobile homes, veer off the the left and are greeted by a large pole building. The bay door is open, lights are on, and there is a Tempest sitting on a pallet, waiting to be taken away.

From there it gets pretty normal. It is just a lady and two teenage boys, we talk about the game, I pay the asking price, and the boys help me load it up. The lady says " what kind of car is that? thats amazing" and the boys mention that they have about 8 other people interested in the game, including someone who was willing to pay $50 over the asking price.

Game appears to play blind, haven't looked into the 6100 yet, I do have a working spare anyway. Has a tubular lock on the front that I need to drill out. Back door was broken away where the lock used to be. Has all manuals and back door sheet. Marquee is good, CPO is good, side art is good, should be an easy restore.

Pretty amazing! Fits perfect! Too bad you don't have a video of it getting loaded...

Thats to funny. it was 2mins from my house. I picked up a huo Defender from those same people 2 years ago at Thrillvile. back in that area there is alot of games they still have not found yet. maybe the Tempest if the first of many.
p.s your 720 is starting to look like a cab again.

Nice. If the back door is off, you should be able to reach in and remove the nut from the coin door lock. Some of the Atari locks are really hard to drill through.

I have a scion xA, and I would not be able to haul that game. The front seat doesn't lay flat. I did fit an old EM pin in there last week though. The seller had to take a pic since he didn't think there was a chance it would fit. :)

That really is amazing. Tempest is a pretty easy game to move, but if you think a Battlezone would fit in the Fit, then that's awesome. Good luck getting it all together.

You just know that a comparable car made by ANY of the domestic automakers would not have been able to haul that game.It is amazing how well the Fit was designed.

I started a thread a few months ago asking whether the Fit could carry a game, because I plan on buying one very soon. Then they showed a picture of a Battlezone shoehorned in a Fit. Now I am totally convinced and I will be buying a Fit and I will shove my Firepower in it just for fun :)

Nice job. next time take a blanket to put between the side art and the dolly....

Your Centipede or Paperboy would be a much better test. Firepower would be too easy. :)

Thanks man, actually just got back in from the shop, and I did not have to drill the lock. Just reached through, unlatched the CP, and unscrewed the lock from the back.
