Ok I know surprise Tempest is not working....but I wanted to throw out my issue to the group to get some direction.

I picked up a non working Tempest the I am sure I saw neck glow on just no display, 5v led on pcb or flashing player start buttons. I did a rebuild of the ARII and replace big blue and the fuse at F5 was blown. Now the pcb led 5v is on an player start buttons are flashing so progress. I however have no video (no glow in the neck either) and when I press player 1 start it goes solid but I do not hear any sound.

All other test points on the ARII look good for voltage.

Suggestions on where to start

Turn the volume up, check the connection to the speaker, try test mode. Sounds like it's playing blind and deaf.

Re: monitor. Is the spotkiller on? On would indicate a PCB issue, off is a monitor issue. Check the fuses and reflow all the headers.

No spot killer but voltages look good on PCB. Think I will order a 6100 rebuild lot from Bob. Still not sure why I don't get any sound. Volume is up when hitting start and nothing.

No neck glow usually means a blown fuse, so start there and report back. Guessing it's the usual LV stuff, though. Also check the frame transistors.
