So I bought a Tempest cabaret on the cheap ($60) a few years ago and started to restore it. I'm at the point where I have the control panel rebuilt, have a flat screen someone donated mounted in there and one of those vector VGA units. The only problem being is that when I went in there the wiring is completely hacked to hell. They converted it to JAMMA. Now I recently purchased a wire harness for a upright but am missing a few things. I was wondering if anyone can take some details photos of the ARII & brick hookups/wiring on their unit so I can figure out what I'm missing/need to repair. I'll post pics of what I have in place later tonight.

Thanks,
-M

I have two harnesses. One goes to the boards/ARII and the other is from the brick and looks to go into the ARII. This one seems to possibly be missing two AC lines but I'm not sure. I fired it up using this setup but blew a 4v fuse and let some magic smoke out. Neither boards fired up and I know they work.

It's cool dok everyone has crap going around with the holidays around the corner. when you get a chance.

The manual has all the wiring laid out nicely in the wiring diagram - it'll tell you far more than a photo will.

I've downloaded both the upright and cabaret manual and although it has a pseudo wiring diagram that just has a general flow and voltages it doesn't specifically have the layout of the two wiring harnesses in the cab, at least from the ones I've downloaded. Have a link to one that includes the diagram you're referring to?

Atari manuals are always in two pieces. The Service Manual, which has all the instructions, option switch settings, parts lists, and blown apart diagrams of the control panel. The Drawing Package has all the wiring diagrams and the schematic of the boards.

You probably want this one:
http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Arcade_Atari_Kee/Tempest_Caberat/Tempest_Caberat_DP-196-1st-01B.pdf

There are other files in that directory with the rest of the drawing package, which has the schematics of the board, but the wiring dagram of the cabinet and stuff is in this one.
