Tempest cabaret sideart!!!

Tempest cabaret sideart? I am ignorant of such an animal. Is there really such thing? I've had countless tempest cabarets and every one had the plain jane woodgrain sides.

Anyone have pics of what the OP is talking about?

Thanks,
John

i recived a few pms asking if this side are is for sale.

However i was just simply responding to the question by vectorman

(" I am ignorant of such an animal. Is there really such thing?Anyone have pics of what the OP is talking about?")

I do not own this side art, just preformed a simple google search of tempest cabaret side art and found that pic..its not mine.

Well... I think my cabaret would look weird with that on it. I have only seen woodgrain sides. Then again, that has been true about most of the Froggers I've seen too but there certainly was side art for those. Is there sideart for other Atari cabarets?

It doesn't replace the woodgrain sides. It goes over the woodgrain but does not cover the entire side. Like this (sav's Centipede):

Apparently op's could order it after purchasing the cabaret. Not very many were ordered therefore the sideart for the cabaret's are pretty rare.

did missile command cabaret ever have any optional side art?

Wow. Interesting.

In the next week or so, I will be the proud new owner of a Missile Command Cabaret.

Does anyone have any information on which Cabaret's had optional side art? Would LOVE to find some for a MC!

Are there any official Atari docs out there with a list of them I wonder?

I was contacted by someone that has some. Hopefully, they are listening and will PM you.

Scott C.

Ok..I'll fess up..I own a set of NOS Tempest Cabaret Side art...the reason I contacted Scott was I was looking to trade for some rarer video game posters and he happened to have this listed specifically in his want lists....apparently he changed his mind since he never really contacted me back about it.....other than that I really wasn't interested in selling. I collect NOS art and the only time I'd trade away something this rare was if I was getting something as rare in return to replace it my collection..hence the idea to trade for some rare posters...

However you can PM with an offer as I am always open to that..but I'm not letting it go for a few bucks so save your time if that is what your thinking.:D

I think Archer made some custom Battlezone cabaret side art, man I'd love to get my hands on that!
What would you do with such rare artwork that looks only OK on the intended games... I guess I might just hang on to it as well.

To be honest I think it looks horrible installed..it doesn't match the cab shape or dimensions and really looks out of place...That being said I would lend a piece to Rich to reproduce it either silkscreen or solvent ink since that would be cheaper if enough people were interested..I just can't imagine that many tempest cabarets are out there so very little interest I would imagine...

I'm with Rick, I think it looks silly installed. I would be in for a set of Archer-style fantasy artwork that covers the whole side or something but the factory Atari art looks goofy, IMO.

RoadRunner,

You got any Asteroids Deluxe cabaret CPOS?

No I don't. In fact I don't even have any of the Asteroids games in my collection which I would like to get at some point..;) I can remember playing asteroids for hours on the Atari 2600...I love the sounds of some asteroid explosions...fun times when gaming was so much simplier and our expectations a lot lower..:D
