Hello...

Got the "brrrrrrrrrrr" coming from the Tempest spinner.

I've replaces it with a new bushing--the blue plastic type. Honestly, at 1st is was quiet, for all of about 3-5 games, but now is worse than the old bushing.

Anyone have the proper fix for this?

Thanks!

It's supposed to have the "Brrrr"!

I actually traded one that didn't to 30FathomDave for the one on his machine that did make the Brrrr noise.

Just sayin'. ;)

Add a drop of 3-in-1 oil to the shaft at each bushing. A lot of people like the noise; personally, I don't.

I oiled my original bushings and it stayed quiet for a few months, but then it came back. Then I got the replacement bushings and oiled them and haven't had a problem since (about 10 months).

Use Brass bushings, or graphite

+1 on the graphite.

If it were just a "noise" then yes I would agree it's synonymous with a Tempest and almost becomes a part of the game.
But knowing that it is really metal to metal chatter which is damaging to both the bushing AND the shaft....then I have to give it some lube for longevity purposes. (the chatter means it is already wearing)

where would I find Brass replacement bushings? Everywhere I've looked the replacements are always plastic. Is there a reliable source for the brass ones?

i bought a set from arcadeshop (plastic) that don't make the brrrrrr chatter, but they don't appear very robust, doubt they will last much longer
