Hey all, I have an issue with my tempest board connector that runs between the two boards. Can anyone tell me if the 24 pin cable runs pin one on one board to pin one on the other board or if there is any crossover? I want to double check before I plug it in so I don't blow something up.

Chuck

Thanks, that looks like it will solve my issue with the cable. Now I just hope that is the only problem left in the game.

Just an update, the board interconnect cable had on crimp that was too tight and seems to have broken the wire. Re-crimped that wire and now all works on the board. Still have one issue with the monitor. I did a total rebuild on it with a kit from Bob Roberts including a new flyback and now the focus is drifting.

I already rebuilt the interconnect cable. One wire was broken at the crimp and fixed. Works like a charm now.

That will do that for about the first 1/2 hour or so. If it keeps doing that check with buffett and he will let you know what to look for or test.

I have left the game on for hours an I does seem to stabilize, but that's not how its supposed to function. I need to get some time to look at it. The weekend is Pinfest, so it will not be in the next couple of days. I was going to put the old flyback in it and see if it stabilizes the focus, that should give me a definitive answer on the flyback.

i don't know much of anything about vectors.

but from what i read is check the focus pin on the tube and the connector inside the neck socket.

i read that is a common problem with those old tubes and chassis.

other than that i cant tell you anything else to check.

start a thread in the monitor repair section and let one of the vector guru's
help you.

thanks for the prop about repairing monitors:)

Peace
Buffett

Buffet, when I get time to check on it, I will look at that. Beyond that I will move this to the monitor section since t has evolved Into that.
