I'm bored. I'm sure there are other threads here like this, but I haven't seen one recently, so I figured I'd throw another one out there...
People are always talking about their Arcade collection here (obviously) Why not tell us about your console collection. What do you have, what's your favorite item in your collection, and what is your favorite game for each system.
I know some people here have some sweet console goodness that puts my pathetic little collection to shame.
Anyone interested in playing? :D

For the most part, I collected console stuff before arcade games. And when you have to downsize or live in a small place you don't have to sell your collection. I collect for the following to various degrees: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS1, 2600, Intellivision, Genesis, Sega CD, TG-16, Wii, and XBox.

The ones I concentrate most on are my XBOX, NES, 2600, and Genesis stuff. I've really slowed down the past year or two because I've gotten most of the stuff I want. I mainly collect from thrift stores, garage sales, and pawn shops. I don't buy much from eBay or other collectors- well because I'm cheap. Here are a few crappy cell phone pics of my two game shelves, that house 95% of my collection.

I also have odds and ends of PS3 games, a few Vectrex games, 7200, some Coleco Vision, Gameboy, and some Master System stuff.

Hooked up to my entertainment center and playable at any time are my: Gamecube, XBOX, NES, N64, SNES, 2600, PS2, TG-16, and my Sega CD 32X.

And here's a wider shot of how it all fits into my entertainment system- via an amalgamation of switchers, inputs, and an audio receiver... oh and a ton of wires.

OK, the rest of the questions. I'll keep it short for the stuff I play the most.

Favorite Systems: Tie between the XBOX and NES

Favorite Games.
NES: Double Dragon II
SNES: Super Empire Strikes Back
N64: Goldeneye and Perfect Dark
2600: Berzerk

I wish I had a simple answer for you, but I really have to get everything organized into a solid list before I can even answer that request for the systems I have.

Let me do just some for now, off the top of my head:

System - Atari Jaguar. Fav. game - Tempest 2000
System - Atari 2600. Fav. game - Berzerk
System - TurboGrafx-16 (TurboDuo). Fav. game - Soldier Blade
System - Super NES/Super Famicom - Parodius (Japan), and R-Type III (U.S.)

Guess I should have included what I have here...
Atari 2600
Atari 5200
Intellivision
Odyssey2
Apple IIe
NES
Sega Genesis
N64
PSOne
Nintendo Game Cube
Sega Dreamcast
Xbox (modded)
Xbox360
Game Boy/ Game Boy Advance
Nintendo DS Lite

I'm sure I'm forgetting something...
Anyhow, at any one time I have the Xbox360, Xbox, Game Cube, Dreamcast, n64, Genesis, and the NES hooked up to the tv and ready to go... It's a helluva lot of wires though, and quite a few switchboxes...

you got one of my fav n64 games right on front!

I think I paid 50 cents for it at a garage sale too... was a good buy.
I don't have many games for the 64, just Rogue Squadron, Star Wars Racer, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Some of the rarer N64 stuff is sorta heating up on eBay right now. I sold a boxed UFO Super Bowling (never heard of it right?) for $130 last month. I also sold Bomberman 2nd Attack for $95. There's just a handful of complete games that command that much right now though.

You can probably guess from my new handle that I'm a fan of Nintendo, especially the original NES. It's what got me into gaming in the first place. I was only two years old when the NES came out, but by I'd say by '88-'89 I was definitely playing a lot.

I have three brothers and a love of gaming was the biggest thing I think we all had in common. We played Apple II, PC, NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, N64, DC, etc.

Nowadays, my brothers are into current gaming on X360/PS3. I think I'm the only one who is more into playing older games. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I find replaying old NES, SNES, etc. games is still just as fun as playing current games. Ex. I beat Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! again the other night and it's still awesome. Games like this always bring me back.

Over the years, consoles and games have come and gone. I'm currently the keeper of all that we have left of our old collection. Just all of our consoles and a few games for each, but here are my favorites before the DS/Wii/X360/PS3 era:

Apple II (No longer own): Ghostbusters (terrible game I know, but I remember playing it a lot)
PC (pre-1990): Space Quest
Atari 2600: Missile Command
NES: Super Mario Bros. 3
SMS (No longer own): Fantasy Zone
TGX16 (No longer own): Bonk's Adventure
GB: LoZ - Link's Awakening
GBC: SMB Deluxe
GG: X-Men
NGP Color: Metal Slug
SNES: Super Mario World
Genesis: Gunstar Heroes
GBA: LoZ - The Minish Cap
N64: LoZ - Ocarina of Time
Saturn: Dragonforce
PSX: Final Fantasy VII
Dreamcast: SFIII: 3rd Strike
GC: Mario Kart - Double Dash
XBox: Halo 2
PS2: Shadow of Colossus

before collecting arcades all i did was collect the console stuff, which i still love.

to get the cades, i had to sell some of my console stuff :(

but, i did keep my faves.... so here is what i ended up keeping. most of the stuff is in boxes at the moment.

NES TOP LOADER - about 300 classic games still in my collection
TURBO DUO - this system is great and ill never sell it. still got about 150 us and pc enegine games.
ATARI 2600 and 7800 - 100 games or more still in the collection.
COLECOVISION - 30 games
VECTREX - with the multi cart

wow, i didnt realize N64 games were still fetching that kinda money?? congrats man on some good sales.

These are the systems that are currently in our house. Favorite game is way too hard, and I'm probably forgetting some game I love, or one I remember fondly hasn't aged well, but here's a quick run through)

SNES - Donkey Kong Country
PS2 - drawing a blank... everything I think of turns out to be a PS1 title
Wii - Williams Pinball
X360 - Mass Effect series / N+
DS Lite - Professor Layton series / Castlevania series / N+
PSP - Jeanne D'arc / N+
3DS - No clear favorite yet

(yes, I really like N+)

I've been inching my way into collecting games. I have gotten a fair amount of them in recent months, but its tough to manage that and my other two hobbies (sports cards and Transformers) so they sometimes don't get enough attention. I have some older pictures, and I had started adding my games into vgcollect. Since I want to be moving soon, I've boxed up all my systems except the PS2 and PS3. I have games for systems that I don't own also. I prefer the boxed games but of course I've got some loose ones too.
I'll try to get some pics tonight.

Mine is pathetic compared to others, but I have the consoles and games I grew up playing. NES (x2), SNES, N64 (x2), genesis (x4, long story), xBox, ps3 (x2), wii, PSP, 3DS. I have around 200 games (mostly PSX & PS2). I have the basic games everyone loves, and some of the abstract ones I played growing up. I've been meaning to buy anther Saturn and a 3DO though...

Favorites:

NES: Kid Icarus
SNES: Chrono Trigger
N64: Goldeneye
Gensis: X-men
xBox: Mechwarrior
PSX: Gran Tourismo
PS2: God of War 2
PS3: GT5
Wii: Zelda Twilight Princess
PSP: God of War Chains of Olympus
3DS: Zelda OoT

I have a decent console collection in terms of hardware, though my game library wasn't terribly impressive until the PS2 era. Up until then, I averaged under a dozen games for each console. Since then, probably more like 3 or 4 dozen. Mainly because I never had money of my own before that and I haven't been able to go back and get everything I ever wanted for the old systems.

I just moved into a new house and am almost done getting the majority of my stuff organized, so I'll post some pics once it's all ready. Below is what I can think of at the moment with what I would consider right now my favorite game.

Items that are crossed out are those that I have either sold/traded/lost at some point. Fortunately, most of those have been replaced since then. This list is roughly in the order the systems were purchased and includes the replacement systems.

Atari VCS - Berzerk
NES - Mega Man 3
SNES - Super Mario World
Genesis + CD + 32X - Sonic 2 / Lunar / T-Mek
Game Boy - Tetris
Game Gear - Road Rash
PlayStation (PSX) - Coolboarders 2
Nintendo 64 - Mario Kart 64
Saturn - Die Hard Arcade
Virtual Boy - Mario Clash
Game Boy
Game.com - Lights Out
Dreamcast - Jet Grind Radio
PlayStation 2 - Shadow of the Colossus
Intellivision -
Game Cube - Windwaker
Game Boy Advance -
Game Boy Advance SP
Game.com Pocket Pro
Atari 2600 Jr
PSone
Nintendo DS -
PSP - Mega Man Powered Up
NES (top loader)
Neo Geo Pocket Color - SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millennium
Dreamcast
Xbox -
GP2X
Wii -
Nintendo DS Lite
Neo Geo Pocket
Xbox 360 -
Nintendo DSi
NES
Nintendo 64
PlayStation 3 - Uncharted 2
3DS - Ghost Recon

I *think* that just about covers it. There are a few systems that I had/have multiples of for whatever reason, but those aren't included. For systems without a fav game listed, that just means I have a hard time choosing a favorite right now. I'll think about it some more and update later.

When I was a kid, we sold the old Atari VCS for probably next to nothing. I wish we'd kept it. I've since bought two Atari Jrs and a shit tons of carts for close to nothing.

I don't even want to admit what I traded my NES and all games for. I was young and stupid. I did keep Dragon Warrior 1 though because my dad an dI played the hell out of that together when I was really little and got to the end and never beat it. I'll bet the battery has died and the save is gone by now :( When I checked a few years ago it was still there, though. I should try that this weekend. Trading this off and regretting it is the reason why I haven't sold or traded a single system since then, unless I had multiples for some reason.

My original Game Boy was lost or stolen one year at a family function. I'm guessing stolen.

My original N64 was left at a girl's apartment once and I never got it back cause we got in a fight and I never saw her again. She got my Mario Kart 64 cart as well as my special edition gold controller that I won in a Mario Kart 64 contest through Nintendo Power :(

My original launch day Dreamcast was left at a friend's house...we're no longer friends...'nuff said :(

I don't let people borrow shit these days :p

I sold a boxed UFO Super Bowling (never heard of it right?) for $130 last month.
Yup, never heard of it, but I'm going to try to see if I can find info on it, sounds interesting. You never know either which one is going to fetch big bucks (unless you really follow the system) if I saw that at a garage sale/flea market, I'd probably not even give it a second glance...

I have three brothers and a love of gaming was the biggest thing I think we all had in common.
I have an older brother, and for a long time he was into gaming. He's the one who got me into most of this stuff, including arcade collecting, but now he barely plays anything...
We played Apple II,
I knew I was forgetting something... I guess I was thinking more on console games... Love the Apple II as well, I'll add that to my list.

Every story I ever hear about people lending out games/systems never ends well... I've never really loaned anything out, other than swapping 2600 carts back in the day. If I wanted to go play some Intellivision, I'd just go over to my friends house who had it, and play there.

Oh and favorite games:

Atari 2600- Pitfall II or Kaboom
Atari 5200- Dreadnaught Factor
Intellivision- Just bought one but I loved Frog Bog back in the day, there's better games, but this one holds a lot of memories for me.
Odyssey2- Dunno, maybe KC Munchkin?
Apple IIe- Oregon Trail (there's better games, but every memory I have of the apple goes back to this game)
NES- Mario 2
Sega Genesis- Sonic 2
N64- Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time
PSOne- Dunno, maybe Driver? Have to think about it.
Nintendo Game Cube- Mario Kart Double Dash or Super Mario Sunshine
Sega Dreamcast- Just bought a DC, but so far Sonic Adventure 2
Xbox (modded)-Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
Xbox360- no answer to this yet.
Game Boy- Super Mario Land
Game Boy Advance- Link to the Past (guess that counts as I don't have a SNES)
Nintendo DS Lite- New Super Mario Bros.

wow, i didnt realize N64 games were still fetching that kinda money?? congrats man on some good sales.

Most of the games don't fetch near what these do. UFO Super Bowling was only going in the mid 50's last year. There was an auction right before mine for the same game where it went for $220 to an international bidder.

You never know what will become harder to find as the system gets older. I'll periodically check eBay completed listings, to see what's hot.

My memory is more than a little fuzzy anymore. I have a hard time remembering what I have these days. I collected way too much stuff and stored it away.

Here's a partial list.

Numerous dedicated systems that play Pong and hockey etc. Including two Telstar Rangers with guns, one I bought new, still has the box. Several Magnavox

Super Pong (color)
Fairchild Channel F with several carts.

PlayStation 1 and 5 or so games.
Commodore 64 and games, not sure how many.

Sega Saturn times 2 and around 30 plus games, all boxes. Two Justifier guns with boxes.
Original Xbox, black.
Three original Xboxes, black, modded with bigger HDs.
Halo edition green Xboxes. Most modded, with boxes and original controllers. times 6. Over 100 games (actual game dvds). Numerous controllers some still new in packages.
Halo edition 360 times two. One was bought brand new has all original papers and boxes. around 15 games.

I have several table top games as well, but I can't think of all their names right now.

That will probably do it for now, unless I can think of anymore that I have stored away.
