Well, I got this a few days ago, and it played fine I thought. Now I go to turn it on, it was getting stuck at the start program screen when you first turn it on... I swapped DVD drives, now it goes through to start the game, but after a few minutes it freezes but the background is still going at the VS screen. I did notice the light on the DVD ROM drive was off...

Try another DVD-ROM drive. My 246 does this sometimes. You might try a different model, too - not all DVD-ROMs work in the 246/256, but most do. Some DVD-ROM drives seem to not work with certain games, but others will.

246/256's are rough on DVD-ROMs...

Also the voltage on the power supply. I had one of these on location, it's picky as HELL about what voltage you have it at. Try going down a little bit, or up a little bit on it.

As memory serves, it seems the Tekkens liked to be at like 4.9 or 5.0 volts, they didn't like it high at all, whereas most games like the voltage to be a little high.
