Got a converted hacked up TMNT and trying to go through and fix it. What I'm finding out after fixing all the wiring I have no left movement for players 1-3 and no coin up for player 1. I know these boards have common issues like sound, which I have also. Any ideas where to start?

Try checking the ground wire for the leaf/micro switches. I had a similar problem after rewiring my TMNT cab. There ended up being a short in one of the ground going to the 4 player down, right and jump button. I swapped out the wire and everything good after that.

Thanks, I think I might not be as lucky, but I'll have a look. I'm going to throw an all new harness in there. I did use clips to go straight ground and I still couldn't get it to make a move or coin up on those. Moved the whole 4th player harness to the 3 player spot and it wouldn't work.

Damn, that sucks...

Mine was in pretty hacked up as well. I ended up putting in a new Jamma harness, new buttons, new joysticks, new power cable, changed out the coin doors and changed out all the connectors for players 1-4 on the cabinet. It took a good 6-10 hours to get everything finished and another 30-45 minutes of troubleshooting. Works like a champ now!

Good luck with the troubleshooting. Let me know if I can help.

Mine was put into an old Jungle Hunt cab, so it's pretty damn terrible in there. I'll probably clean it up, new harness and call it a day until I find a nice Konami cab to put it in.

As you have lost all these inputs at once I would put money on it being the 74LS253 at A27, this multiplexes player 1-3 left and 1P coin inputs. If it is a Fujitsu chip (will have an F on it with a bar above and below the letter) then it is even more likely - very common failure.

If you have a logic probe you can poke it at pin 9 on this chip and you will likely find it floating.

Its also worth eyeballing the resistor network (thin black component) marked Konami 005273 at A20, if that is missing, loose or damaged it will cause the same fault. If that is still in place, not wobbly and without any signs its been bashed then its the chip at A27. Be gentle with the board tho, it is likely to be peppered with Konami chips and they are dropping like flies these days.

Wow man. Thanks for that. I will check that out. Nothing looked loose or out of place when I glanced over the board but I'll give it another close look.

The resistor packs look ok to me. At A27 I have a Motorola SN74LS253N, found some and it is on order. Hopefully this is the only problem.
