I'm a little confused on a problem I'm having with this Wurlitzer Las Vegas CD jukebox. It is the same setup as the New York, New York - just a different color and door glass.

After making a selection the carousel continuously rotates.

The LEDs on the SC&C show as:
"Z" always on.
"K" flashes only when the first CD passes under the pickup arm.
"M" not lit.

In the trouble shooting section of the manual (page 50 for Jukebox CDM 4 I, Sympton 6.02) it says the possible fault is . . . "Gray line from M3 to pole 4 of plug BLUE shorted to ground. SCC unit defective (rel. 4 sticks, T4 def.).

SC&C is set for free play, the number of discs on the carousel have been programmed also.

I've changed out the SC&C, CDM 4 I (0040264) with a know working one. Still have this problem.

I've installed a new lamp in the latch bulb socket.

QUESTIONS:

What is "M3" as referenced in the troubleshooting manual?
What does "rel. 4 sticks" refer to?
Does "T4 def." refer to a fuse?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

For anyone who was curious about this problem - got it fixed! There are two optos on the latch switch; one is tripped once per complete revolution of the carousel (the "K" LED) and one is tripped by each tooth of the carousel as it passes the latch (the "Z" LED). The problem was a broken ground wire going from the the "Z" opto to the Black plug on the SC&C, and a mis-adjusted micro-switch on the latch assembly. A big thanks to John Robertson at John's Jukes for pointing me in the right direction, never would have understood what I was looking at without his guidance.
