Hello,

I'm having trouble with my EM Williams Altair shuffle alley. Let me just start by saying that the bell never rings no matter what game mode you are in, when in fact it should ring one or twice for every strike/spare. I don't have the schematic, but I need to find out what circuit activates the bell.

Update: The solenoid on the bell was activating like it should, but the armature was not moving because it was missing the rubber grommet on the bottom of the armature that kept it raised 1/4 inch. So the coil didn't have enough power to active the armature with the rubber grommet gone. I replaced the grommet with a small rubber ring and now it works well.

I will also have the game for sale shortly, and it will be working 100% by then. I'm in Benton, PA. 17814

Way to go blbarchik! Glad you figured it out. I think most of the problems with these EM games are more mechanical in nature than electrical (ie switches leaf not moving far enough to make contact or something similiar to your problem etc. etc.) Sometimes a coil may go bad or a wire might break, but the majority of the problems are probably mechanical. So I think with these machines it is always a good idea to give them a good eyeball before adjusting switches or replacing coils. Maintenance is everything with these EM games. Anyway, great job. Will the game be for sale on Ebay or here or both? Any pics you could post in this thread?

Well, the game is now completed. Everything now works well, the reels reset and score correctly, I installed 10 new pins, the legs have been repainted and new leg levelers installed. There is a new power cord installed, as well as a new rebound rubber. The main backglass and the smaller backglass are in good shape with very minor scratches. The coin door is in very nice condition and its set for 10c per player. It will come with a new puck and a can of wax. To be honest the cabinet in my opinion could use a repaint, I would rate the paint condition of the cabinet along with scratches and general wear 6/10. The alley is made of Formica and is in good condition. I'm in Benton, PA 17814 and I'm asking $650. I will post some pictures shortly.
