ok i have a ninteno 20ez that when turned on turns on the degaussing right away and stays on till it blows the main fuse.

if i unplug the degaussing its fine

just did a complete cap kit

what to try next?

sanyo

first,id look to see if there is a solder bridge in that area. maybe in that line.sounds like the deguass is completing a short.

I'd swap the thermistor. It's responsible for turning off the degaussing circuit. Sounds like it's no longer working.

the sanyo does not have a stand alone transistor like other chassis do.
it is combined in the black box part location PS601.

this is where i would start looking.

check the black box next to the degauss pins PS601.

ohm the two points between the zig zag pattern.
test in circuit they should read close to 167.4 give or take an ohm.
then test with continuity they should not be a dead short.

then measure the two points with the zig zag pattern in the box still in circuit.
it should ohm out around 10.1.
and then with continuity it should almost read a dead short.

if you get any other readings then remove it and test again.
i measured all this in circuit so out of circuit it may differ some what.
