I got this game from a friend to look at and I am not real well versed on mega touch repair. The problems are:

Boot up and it gives error CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR - DEFAULTS LOADED
hook up keyboard hit f-1 and boot. all is fine. Power down and restart same issue. I think this is b/c battery is not on board on top of MB (no battery on MB that I saw?????). It came with no battery so I am not sure what size to install but it should be 3vdc I think. I got a 3vdc today and after installing it today I get an error:

INVALID KEY FOR VERSION PG3002-01 V22.02. Machine will reboot over and over

If I put a battery in and config CMOS like this:

CMOS CONFIGURATIONS
N-Force (ION)
1 - Plug a keyboard into the purple port connector (PS2)
2 - Power the game on. Press DEL to enter SETUP.
3 - Arrow over and down to Load Optimized Defaults.
4 - Press ENTER. Press Y for "Yes".
5 - Press F10, Press Y for Yes.
6 - The system should reboot. Unplug the keyboard.

Next error is:
INVALID KEY FOR VERSION PG3002-01 V22.02. Machine will reboot over and over.

Pull the battery, connect keyboard and hit f-1 and it boots and plays fine. I know I'm missing something easy here and plan to print a manual tomorrow. I started reading it and it seems I have a lot to learn about these games. Set up of each game is a process I will take through the manual after I get it booting without faults.

Thanks for reading this long question and helping a beginner!

Update -- issue fixed?

OK I might have found my issue. Apparently the motherboard HAS to have a battery on it and the board on top of the MB that I thought needed a battery has a slot for the security key. It is not a battery holder. I thought it was for a battery since it had + and - on it. Thus when I put a battery in that slot the game doesn't recognize the battery as a security key. Sounds like all I need is to remove that board and replace the MB battery. I found a manual for the game which is helping a lot!

Then reset the BIOS and I'm off to the races.

Sorry to waste time babbling on and on but I wanted to clarify my issue and fix.
