Hey guys, I have a K4600 in a Galaga that has a really odd issue. The monitor can be on for hours and work just fine, looks really good and clear. Then, the next time I turn it on it's rolling so fast you cant tell whats on the screen. Cycle power a few times and it will go back to normal. (see the pics) I've checked and cleaned all of the connections, everything looks fine. I would do a cap kit but it doesn't look like it really needs one. Anyone have a suggestion of what could be causing this? Thanks.

I tried that, doesnt have any effect. Only thing that seems to work is cycling the power...

I don't know monitors that well and really don't want to but I think it is a hold of some , horizontal/ vertical or a sync issue. If adjusting the pots does nothing then look at the pots and then the caps.

This should be in the monitor section....right below this one....Did I mention I really really HATE working on monitors....The next one is all yours Buffett, I never want to work on a monitor EVER AGAIN.

Even though it might not need a cap kit, but I would reflow the daughter cards sockets and header pins and hit the signal header pins as well.

That is not rolling, it is loss of sync. If adjusting the H hold doesn't fix it, you will need to adjust L352 on the X/Y daughter card.

Most likely you have a failing cap on the X/Y daughter card causing the issue to begin with.
