Original Pole Position, every sound is missing except the womans voice and the players engine. It is not the ar boards cuz I placed my other working PP boardset in the cab and they were all there. I even swapped around the socketed chips that the manual said to suspect to no avail. anyone out there good with repairing the sounds on these pigs?

thanks in advance

Did you ever get this resolved I just restored a cockpit my pp2 board is fine the other pp1 is doing the exact thing you describe I have been switching custom chips from my other Atari board still no luck.

Good on you for searching for your problem. However the OP hasn't logged in here for two years, so he's unlikely to see this post.

Looking at the schematics, I would suggest replacing the LM324 at 9FB.

@lilypad19 repairs Pole Positions. I can confirm he does good work, he's a local friend of mine.

PS - I still have your de Havilland Vampire postcard on my fridge.

@74XX just did a video on PP2 having a similar problem turned out was a ram issue. My set had a very similar problem as well, ended up being rom -117 was bad. HobbyRoms.com has them.

All of those sounds can get killed by a number of things.. I've had trouble with them in this area.. If you swapped the 51xx, 52x and 53xx from your other board and it made no difference - then poking through this part of the board is in order..
