Hi Everyone!

First, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy Holiday season!

Second, I finally unpacked the Capt Card I bought this past Spring. After cleaning up a very dirty playfield with simple green and magic eraser, the playfield looks very nice. The game is very clean on the inside of the body and head.

Third, the technical stuff. I manually tested the score motor, the stepper units and the score reels. I also visually inspected all the playfield switches and the pop bumper. Physically, all seems well. Unfortunately, I do not have a schematic at the moment. One will be on order very soon.

The Good: The game boots and resets properly. The solenoids work fine. The flipper's are functional and not causing any wear. All the point scoring switches score properly.

The Bad: The WOW scoring seems to be unusually high. During test play, the bonus points were consisently to 30K-50K. Is this too many award bonus points?

My question... What is the normal or typical WOW bonus point for draining a ball down the outlane? Should it ever award 30K-50K in bonus points?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Marcus

I was able to resolve this problem.

So I will recap the symptom and solution to the problem.

Symptom: The bonus switches and the ball capture were not scoring the bonus properly. The score motor would run for 4-5 extra rotations before stopping.

Solution: The bonus stepper needed to be cleaned. I sanded the contacts with 400 Grit Sandpaper and then cleaned the bakelit pad with iso alchohol. I also sanded the contact fingers and cleaned them afterwords with iso alcohol.

I then rebuilt the stepper and the problem was resolved.
