TECH: Back to the future SOUND Issue?? (Low Speech)

So I still have not got this problem fixed and was hoping someone could help me out.

The speech sound in my bttf is low

(so low that u literally cannot hear the speech without turning the volume almost to max, and then the audio will blow you away, haha)

I shipped out my sound board to an apparently "reputable" board guy on the east coast. He returned it and said nothing was wrong with it....

It is board 520-5002-01

I looked it up in the manual and that seems like the correct board. All the roms seem fine (no broken legs, connection good, and i can hear speech, just barely).

Anywhere I should start poking on this thing with a multimeter or can someone point me in the right direction of maybe a problem on a different board??

Thanks in advance!! :)

Interesting. A friend of mine has a Royal Rumble with this exact issue. I don't have any help for you, but I'll keep an eye on this thread for a possible resolution.

I was hoping the great "lindsey" would answer my post :)

I am kind of a newb when it comes to troubleshooting boards with schematics...

What should i set my multimeter too and what #'s am i looking to see??

I would take a look at either the MC3403 audio preamp (quad opamp) or the 4052 channel selector (operating as an analog buffer).

Do you have voices in all three speakers? If so, I would strongly suspect the MC3403. You can get them from mouser for about 50 cents.
