Is this how the slapstick chip is handled after the patcher? I laid the 2 bridges as explained in the patcher and then removed the slapstick. is that correct?

Info in patcher is: "Removes the need for the Slapstic protection chip (20 pin DIP # 137412-103), you will need to remove it and then link pin 4-10 & 5-9."

After patching the slaptick chip is no longer needed and must not inserted again ? Can someone please confirm that ?

What I can already say about the conversion process is that it is very poorly documented - I haven't found a single thread where someone has done it here in this forum and then documented it with pictures etc. and I've read a lot of them. Information from other users here about which chips belong often does not match the row labels 1-18 and A-H.

I have removed all Roadblaster ROMs and, as I understand it, I'm sticking to the original configuration of the MM cartridges - so I know which chips are needed first. Here are 2 pictures of original LSI MM cartridges that I found online. So I will only need these chips in my cartridge if my thinking is correct

That info posted another user in this forum for LSI Cartridge. But as inmentioned the positions are not correct with 1-18 and A-H

As you can see here on that picture :

For example 16A and 16B are 17A and 17C in real and thats the same with all other. So it makes it really hard to do this convertion

Here I'm currently struggling with burning the roms and trying to assign the chips correctly

Ic 203 and 115 im missing in my mame roms folder - so i put only stickers over the empty sockets yet

When labeling the labels of the ROMs, I stuck to the information that is in the Mame ROMs folders behind the ROMs - here in the two pictures you can clearly see that the board labeling, as I said, is completely different from the Mame ROM information position

I hope I get it to work in the end and then I'll document it well so that others can do it too - that's my goal. Until then, I'm of course happy about the help and knowledge of the users here who have also achieved this

I had the same issue.

I provided eproms for someone wanting to convert a MM to Road Blasters.

We spent weeks trying different configurations, changing jumpers, using different proms.
Nothing really ended-up working.

Some people claim to have done this, but no-one has ever provided any instructions that actually work.

If someone can figure this out, it would be welcomed information.

Thanks,
Steph

well the easiest thing would be: someone with original LSI MM cartridge pulls his roms - backup them and do a list where the ics need to be placed with correct 1-18 / A-H information ! Then use the patcher over that and we did it !

I only have a friend with TTL cartridge … so that does not help 😝

There are thousands of mame rom sites … nobody knows which is the correct for this project - you download it and then you have about 5 directories or less or more - so much roms - no infos - some missing roms to - on main lvl also many roms in this zips - complete chaos !!!
