I just picked up a nice Mystery Castle after searching for a painfully long time. The game seemed to work great at first, but I've found a few intermittent issues. This is my first experience with working on an Alvin G, so I was hoping maybe someone could point me in the right direction...
1. The ball trough relies on gravity instead of a kicker to add a ball to the plunger lane. Sometimes a ball will roll just right and actually balance in the trough and not roll out. It looks like someone had the same problem before and tried bending the rail, apparently without success. I've tried polishing the rail, no real change. The game is completely level. Any suggestions?
2. The drop targets will sometimes start registering repeated hits after they are knocked down. Not just one target but any target. The switches all seem to be working mechanically. The drop hits an actuator that presses into a regular cherry microswitch. All the switches work (click on and off when they should), but it seems the slightest touch sends the switch into a frenzy of repeated hits once it's closed.
Hoping someone can give me an idea. Maybe others have had these problems with Alvin G's in the past. Thanks for any help!
