tda1771

It's been a while so I thought I had better double check.

It still shows up as current with over 300 in stock at NTE Direct.

I did not know that. I was never able to cross reference the TDA1771 over to NTE parts. It did not cross to Phillips ECG or RCA SK either.

tag for updates. I may order a few in case I need them and can't get any. (I'm a serial parts hoarder though.)

Do we know if leg 5 and 6 are just reversed? I may try keeping both legs out ofthe pcb, and reroute them with a soldered on jumper. Or maybe it needs to be installed backwards?

Edit the datasheet for nte7183 matches the datasheet for tda1771. Huh?

That is why paul said in his video that he thinks the NTEs are also fakes.

My search found these. Looks like someone found an alternative. just needs a minor physical pin modification. Haven't tried it myself.

mouser says those are obsolete too.

I order some from macro.

I'll post back when I get them if they ground through pin 5 properly or not.

Note: it looks like they have 20qty left, so I wouldn't wait around to order them if you really want to give them a shot.

These came in the mail today, they do ground to pin 5 (I put the black lead on the tab and red lead on pin 5, and continuity goes to 0).

Sadly, marco is now sold out. So, either someone just jumped on it or ordered with faster shipping than I did and than bought them.

Yep, that is how it is when you post part sources on KLOV. Lots of eyes watching to steal the parts and then gouge people for them later.

Bummer.

I found a couple of other sources, but they are like $15+ ea. I don't need them, I'm guessing the appeal here was $4ea. Also, ebay seems to have a lot of them sub that amount, provided you willing to play the return game if they are no good.

I would be happy to pay 15 a piece if they are good, otherwise chassis' wont get fixed.

bump this still need a good source for these

I saw that some Italian shops still have this IC as it was used in some TVs over here. I could inquire to see how much stock they have left and if the price is good.
