Taxi - Adjustment failure

Looking at picking up a Taxi that the guys said is showing "adjustment failure" on the displays when it starts up. What is the typical issue to cause this failure. I know a few of you guys on here have this pin
 
Means the game has lost it's settings - in other words your batteries have failed or the prior batteries leaked and ruined the battery holder and the new batteries aren't making a solid connection due to corrosion on the terminals. There is a small chance your RAM @ location U25 is defective.

Well, look at the battery holder before you buy it. I've seen some where the acid leakage was so bad it was easier to just replace the board ($200). If the acid leak is minimal or non-existant, get it cheap, get it home, and put new batteries in and play (clean off any corrosion first though)...
 
thanks for the info guys, seems like it might be a simple fix. Now it comes to the wife and should I ask for permission of forgiveness :)
