My F4 fuse keeps blowing. I haven't figured out what it is that triggers it. Sometimes I can play several games before it blows. Sometimes its the first. The schematics call for a 2A SB fuse, which is what I've been using. There's a sticker in the backbox near that aux power board that has the fuse ratings for the whole column of fuses. The sticker "says" 2.5A. What makes it interesting is that it's the sticker on top of the sticker at the F4 listing that say 2.5 A. When I remove the top sticker I THINK it says 2A. Is it possible that later versions of the game had 2.5 instead of 2 and they just slapped on the smaller sticker making that change? Am I risking damage by trying a 2.5A?

On another note, when I turn the machine on, it says "factory setting" on the display and I have to put it in test mode and then take it out of test mode to get it to "boot up". Needless to say, it doesn't remember any settings I had in place, high scores, etc. I replaced the batteries on the board with new ones but that doesn't seem to make a difference. What's funny is I didn't have this problem until I replaced the batteries with fresh ones.

Williams often had errors in their pinball manuals and issued correction bulletins that were to be inserted into the manual. Most operators ended up using those bulletins as scratch paper and so the needed corrections to the manuals never got done.

Likely you DO need to use a 2.5 amp slo-blo fuse for F4 on the Aux Power Driver board.

Your memory/battery problem is likely caused by a corroded/fucked up battery holder. Very common problem. Or else your "new" batteries are no good.
