this monitor is in a bally game maker touchscreen slot machine. as you can see in the pics, the screen has a vertical black band, and the image is shifted to the left, with some of the left side text on the right. i took it to a local monitor repair shop, he played it it for a while, had to make a connector and hooked it up to his test generator. he thinks its not the monitor, but i tried a different MPU board and the results are exactly the same image. during his tests, i could sometimes see the whole screen correct, and other the band was somewhat there, but not as prominent. adjusting the pots doesnt help.

should i re-cap it or is that a waste of time? send it out??

also, there is a little side board, i assume its for the touchscreen? i had to cut the 3 wires from the chassis to that board, and make a connector, there was no way to disconnect it.

finally, i didnt notice till later the connector on the chassis marked yoke has two rows. does it matter what row i reconnect to? looks like it was the top row, with the shiny pins.

thanks
mike

cap kits never hurt but not sure that will solve that problem.

the yoke connectors that have more then one hook up are usually for mirror/inverting the image for other applications.
