horz monitor to vertical

Rotated the monitor, and have another problem.

The monitor frame sticks out. Here are some pics, and see what I am doing wrong.
(I inverted the colors so you can see it better)

If you are talkng about rotating the monitor you do not need to discharge the anode. You only need to worry about the anode if you are removing the cup.

"tate"?

Holy cow

Cowabonga DUDE!

OK, I rotated the monitor in a Tatio cab, and now another problem. It looks straight forward, all the nuts/bolts seem to fit, so just rotate. The problem is the monitor chasis now sticks way out behind the back panel cover. If I take the monitor chasis off and reattach it sideways, and it looks like I can do it. But I dont see where the monitor will bolt on. Any Taito cab owners done this, and want to give me some direction on this.

The taito games that were a vertical screen had a cut out in the back door along with a V-shaped plastic cover that went over the hole, if I remember correctly.

So to answer your question - they cut a hole in the back door to make the monitor fit.

Sounds like it will be that way. Anybody have a picture before I cut into the back panel.

I have a Taito, they rotated it and hacked the frame of the monitor to form angle that would clear the back door. Looked odd, but worked.

I still have that frame I think. WG K4900

lol. Pictures please on the factory hack! THats is better than having a hunchback back panel.

You could also find a vertical frame and transfer the tube and chassis to it. Then it will fit with the current back door...

I was hoping the frame can be unsrcewd and formed for a vertical setup. Possible?Everything looked like it would work out :(

Kstillin has the hacked monitor I had now

basically the cut the tray that the chassis is mounted to an then folded the side in like a flap over the cut.

A vertical frame would be much easier and safer for the monitor.

Somebody used to sell the plastic 'bubbles' that you would screw over the door after you cut the hole in it.

I've got a conversion manual that has a template used to mark where to cut the door.
