I dont want to make this political but I just want to point out that tariffs are not only effecting daily life but hobby life also. This hobby is supposed to be my escape from daily bullshit and now its seeping in.

Its not fair and im crying like a baby about it.

Did you know pcbjunkie (jamma adapters) stopped shipping to the states because of it? If you buy them off ebay you pay $20 on top of crazy shipping prices. Both exceeding the cost of what your actually paying for the adapter. Ken at golden age is struggling to keep prices sane!

If someone is going to Canada please bring back some duty free arcade shit over the border for us!

Made me spend less and made me spend more time to really enjoy my cabs instead of always giving myself more projects to do. Im okay with it.

Ditto, I don't sell nor buy anything (hobby related or other) from the US anymore. Total boycott.
You can't blame pcbjunkie or any other international seller. Can't blame buyers from looking elsewhere either.
Maybe just save your money for groceries. It's a beautiful word, groceries. LOL

Just checked Ebay, and OP is correct - for a CA to US $20US jamma adapter there includes a $25US shipping and a $21US fee. Wow. Crazy. Welcome to our world.

FREE ADVICE: OP, remove the "smug word" in that last sentence.

You should see what it's like trying to run a small business when your costs are changing daily and on a whim. We have had to stop most of our overseas manufacturing for the time being.

Funny story, we were hit with a 10K back import fee for products that were shipped and arrived before this admin took over. They tried to do some retroactive BS.

I type all of this while under my desk in the fetal position looking at 30% decline in sales from last year.

Techincal brain solution.

Host the great Canadian repair party.
Cost to get an invite is arcade parts.

Sever waffles with maybe syrup and Canadian beacons.

Every successful repair give a toast with Canadian whiskey!

Have binkni clad tool/ parts girl handing out electronic parts and tools..

Get tool distribution people and whiskey people to sponsor this event.

Make it epic and glow in the fame it will being.

Take pictures and make those pics into calenders and coffee cups.

Make t shirts so group picture look great.

Expect people for the rest of your life asking when is the next one.

Laughs..

Yep I recently bought from PCBJunkie and Ken and we hit a few bumps for sure. If you buy direct from PCBJunkie's web site the shipping is cheaper, the eBay prices are very high on his gear for some reason.

Back in August I had some Pi-Jamma adapters coming from Korea, when they arrived (right at the beginning of the tariffs starting) UPS wanted me to pay $253 in "Government Fees" on my $130 order - told them to go kick rocks and had to sacrifice getting my parts.

I'm not 100% against tariffs, trade needs to be fair and reasonable for all countries, but the way it was handled was a clusterfuck of grand proportions.
