alrighty, i have a dedicated target terror gold.
i bought it from another klov'r in the summer
it did not come with a monitor.
i finally installed a fully working d9200 in the game .
the guns both flash, but wont register on screen.

both guns do work 100%, i even tried other working guns.
the i/o board was just purchased from betson, so that works too. the one that came with the game had a problem.

anyhow, can the d9200 be used in this game or not? i think the game came stock with a d9400.
what else?

D9200 should work fine, assuming it's getting the right signal. You connected it to the I/O board and not directly to the PC, right?

yes, the monitor is using the rgb wires from the i/o board....not the vga cable from pc.
it goes vga cable from pc to the i/o board, then, the rgb wire harnesses to the d9200
what else?

What guns do you have? My carnevil wouldn't work with it, but my warzaid cab would. Other thing check the gun connections on the I/o. Might need to be switched backwards

they are the red and blue happ guns that come stock with the game. i also tried other known working happ guns...
ok, ill check the i/o board gun connex...but it does flash when triggers pulled...so i think they r correct.

connectors are in there correct. you can not even flip them upside down because they wont push in the connector that way.
pin 1 is red wire according to pinout and so fourth, thats how they are in there.
in the switch test menu, when i press the gun trigger switches they register properly as well.
:(

still couldnt get it to work. called betson today and spoke to the raw thrill techs.
one of them concluded the 9200 may not be compatable.
the MONITOR tech there said it was compatable thow but we still could not figure it out...
if anyone has ran into this and knows a solution, please lmk.
the guns for sure work, the guns are wired and connected correct. the monitor has a nice picture and the i/o board was actually replaced from betson not long ago.

Just a comment, I had a Warzaid once that actually had fuses on the guns, in the back of the cabinet. Make sure you don't have anything crazy like that going on.

Try cranking the brightness / contrast up to the point where the retrace is starting to show and see if it registers. You don't want to leave it that way too long but for a quick test it should be OK.

I think on a carnevil setup I had, I had to add a wire to the sync wire on the monitor from the pcb??, otherwise it did the same as you said, just flash, would love a Target Terror, good luck and hope you get it resolved

Target terror doesn't use any additional sync wiring for it to work. Had to snip off the plastic connector on the I/o and swap the gun connectors then it worked.

what plastic connector on the i/o board and what wires? please lmk specifically. im open to anything to try it.
and i did crank brightness up with retrace, still no work...

pinouts for gun on i/o board go:

1-red= +5v
2-trigger signal
3- black- ground
4- optical signal.

i dont see how flipping the connector upside down would work. if the gun optical got +5 v to it it would blow the chip on the gun board.
i actually did that by accident on a johnny nero that used happ guns and it blew the chip right up and loud pop to boot!!!

also, the ground and signal for trigger would be backwards if it was flipped (if incorrect).

as it is now, the screen flashes when trigger is pressed...clarifying the trigger signal is correct.

is your game dedicated or a kit? maybe the kit i/o board is different?

Actually, the trigger is just a microswitch anyway, so the trigger WOULD work if it was on backwards. On that note, looking at the pinout, I doubt hooking it up backwards would actually pop anything -- sure you've got 5v sitting at the signal pin, but where is it gonna go? The ground is being held open by the trigger switch. Unless the I/O board can soak a significant amount of current over the optic pin, nothing is gonna go boom.

Nothing will burn. I have a conversion kit but it doesnt matter. Ive been stuck at work since saturday morning. Ill take some pics tonight if i can.

D9200 will work for that game. Had MANY TT GOld kits installed into cabs with 9200's without issue.

You should be running the game at VGA resolutions (since the monitor will support it). Thats dips 1-3 all OFF. According to the manual if Dip3 is in the wrong position the guns will not work.

You can get Raw Thrills manuals and software by registering on their website. www.rawthrills.com.

Cant remember if the dedicated had dips or not. Good call on the dips. They gave me alot of trouble to figure out with the sync. I think 4 or 5 are for the sync pos or neg i forget without a manual in hand.

Pics of the gun connectors on I/O. Only way they would register in my warzaid cab with happ guns was putting them backwards. No clue why

FIXED:
i wanted to thank everyone with your input.
actually, by trial and error i started flipping the dips since i had nothing to lose...
turns out, even if u have a perfect picture on a vga monitor (with dips 1,2,and 3 down as the manual states for vga).... the guns wont work. i put dip #3 in the on position and it works.
so, for anyone in the future.
all dips must be off except for dip 3.
even the betson techs didnt know that.
