I just picked up a tapper and had a question for the experts, but first a little backstory on it. This was apparently bought by a guy in 1990 and he had it ever since in his basement. He recently passed away and the daughter is selling everything and taking the mom with her to Colorado. The serial # is 349, and it has the color sideart, my question is that i was under the impression that only the first 100 or so had the color sideart, but i have no doubt that this is an all original machine. So i was wondering if anyone could explain why serial #349 has color sideart. Thanks

here are some pics.

Thanks guys, they had a play choice 10, but it sold right before I got there.

You know what's funny? I've never really wanted or looked for a tapper. Why can't I find a nice star wars..lol. I'll probably have the metal replated, clean it up and maybe fix a missing chunk on the front and put a new front art piece on it and either sell it or try and get a nice star wars for it.

Honestly, I'm going to suggest leaving the front alone. From what's shown in the pics, that's not bad at all. I think it would lose value by replacing the front art with repro. Just my two cents, I like the idea of original and how good it looks as is, doesn't need to be mint. Nice find none the less.

Yeah, you're right. I looked it over this evening and the front is In perfect shape except for right at the bottom center. I looked up some pics of tappers and I didn't realize that they came with the toe kick trim at the bottom, so I'm just going to get one from arcadeshop.com and it'll look like new.
