I have the chance to buy a Tapper cocktail cab and was wondering what I should pay for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You'll get a wide variety of answers on this one.

Myself, I think it's a great game, and the cocktail isn't common, by any means. $500-$900, depending on condition.

Given the economy, I'd say $500-700 is reasonable. Like Tron, some of the attraction to some collectors is the upright cabinet art and detailing. I really like the gameplay of Tapper, but some find it too repetitive.

I just sold mine to a local guy for $450. I priced it to move though.

It was in great shape. Could use new overlays at some point, but very nice.

Make sure you don't have any screen rolling or waving before you buy it.

It is impossible to find the shield that goes over the power brick if it's been removed.

you can make them though. home depot sells small sheets of sheet metal that's 3/16" thick. i ended up making my own for my super pac due to the cocktail monitor humbar.

yeah I made 8 of them and none of them worked. finally spent $60 on an entire power brick just to get the lid.

to answer your original question "how much should I pay for it"

You could pay up to $750 and still not be getting ripped off if it's in great shape, AND you intend to keep the game and not expect to resell it for a profit.

The answers you will get on here will be about as specific as your description of the game. I believe there were around 300 made so who knows how many are actually left. Some people find it highly collectable, but I prefer the upright. It all depends on the condition of the cabinet and how well the game plays. I agree that you need to make sure that there is no roll on the screen because MCR games are a huge PIA to fix.

Thanks everyone for your help. Sorry I couldn't be more specific I was just wanting a ballpark figure for what I could expect to pay for one.
