I bought a couple of Budweiser beer taps. They are clear arcrylic with Budwieser Anheuser-Busch logo, Budwieser red bowtie with Budwieser on side and Bud on the Other. I want to mount these taps to my Tapper CP, I will replace with original taps as my restoration progresses.

I need to modify a couple of 2-way joysticks so they will screw onto the bud taps. I am not sure of the diameter of the holes in the taps. I decided to remove an old knob from a joystick that I don't need. I used a hack saw to cut the ball, then used a flat head screw driver to split the ball apart. I found that the shaft is knurled at the end of the knob.

I am now at a point where I will grind down the knurled end and re-thread the post for the correct diamenter. I am not going to use the rusted shaft, but I will assume that most of the molded joysticks will have some kind of non-threaded post to keep the ball from being removed.

Has someone gone this far to modify a joystick controller? I would like to see some pics of the progress and final finished project.

I used my tap kit to find the inner diameter of the threads of the bud tap to be 3/8.
