Tapper Arcade Restoration (Completed April 9/11)

How the f#%@ did I not see this? An incredible amount of work and truly amazing. I wish I had the tools or space to cut new sides like that, but unfortunately, I'm limited to my Bondo skills. It's a shame that threads like this don't get more attention than 80% of the other crap that people are talking about around here...

I agree. This guy did a GREAT job on this one. I have a much rougher Tapper cabinet that I hope to do the same to one day. The bottom on mine is soft and caving in, but I'm not parting it out!

Thanks for the kind words. I forgot I posted this and stumbled upon it today.

I am a little OCD when it comes to my games so if I have to rebuild a section or the whole cab, so be it.

:)

100% agreed. I'm just finding this thread today, and it is a great read! Congrats on a job well-done.

One question I have - what did you do to the footrest to restore (or replace) the finish? Was it sandblasted and then polished or did you just do 'TarnX' or something similar?

I'm not sure if the footrest is just brass-plated (which I would think it would be for cost reasons) so I didn't know if you dipped it or what.

Thanks!
