Tapper and Timber - Difference Similarities - General discussion

1218 is mine. It's a Root Beer Tapper. I've been told, odds are it was a prototype. Because it has the factory Timber artwork, but the ROM's are hand written.

Ah! So 1218 is the Root Beer Tapper serial, and yours never got a dedicated Timber serial, right? That explains why it's outside of the range of the others.

Exactly, thats the original serial number for the Tapper cab so although the game is really interested the serial number has nothing to do with the production run serial number sequence for Timber.
So far the evidence and list of existing serial numbers is fairly supportive of a run of 500 or less.

Took pictures of the serial number on the Timber at the Museum of Pinball in Banning over the weekend.
Theirs is #296, still well within the three digit range suggesting around 500 games.

Here is the defaced Tapper serial number.

A few weeks ago I made a trade with a good friend and got a Timber Project.

I will get it home this upcoming weekend.

I see that number 328 is registerd already, so here is his neighbor.

Got some papers with it, some service reports and a cool cardboard "topper", on the backside it is space to write highscores.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it is a converted Bud Tapper

Topper? Please post pics, would love to see this.
Congrats on the pickup.

EDIT: Is the topper the white thing that says "new game"?

Haha, yeah the "topper" is that New Game cardboard thing.

It is a Generic Bally/midway and not specific for timber.

I will fix photo of the backside tonight.

Great thread Coindork, awesome info.
I love how they incorporated the Timber art into the Tapper art. Though that gap around the side art where you can see the tapper at drives me crazy.

As promised, here is the backside of the "New game" cardboard topper/standee

So nothing special, and not specific for Timber.

Still quite cool...
