Well the first two of my three latest aquisitions arrived. Overall I'm please though I'm having some teething problems with SAMI. Seems I need a new cooling fan on the projector. Here is SAMI, no not a short one eyed black jewish singer from the 70's, a wicked cool EM game from the 70's.

And Tank. A Tank Cocktail model actually, even Rameses approves. I can't wait until my Tora Tora arrives later this week...

Just joking around.

But not about those games! They look to be in incredible condition! Backstory?

Yes I know you're joking Joe :)

They look much better in photos than in person. The S.A.M.I. is in fair shape outside and good inside.
It needs paintwork for me to be happy with and needs a new cooling fan. Works OK but I'll ruin the film
if I keep playing it before I fix the fan. The Tank is good but the ugly wood grain and plexi top are more
beat than I thought. I think I will redo the top in the orange/pink version and redo the sides eventually.
Still decent buys and I'm happy plus both are good fun .

I have a few of the fans here. I would assume you need a 120v. I'll dig around.

I'm not sure it is 120v, seems to be 50v by looking at the schematic but I could be very wrong. Gonna check and see if it is getting juice tomorrow and if so I'll yank it out and check the brushes (providing it is not a brushless motor) because it spins freely so it is not bound up. I suppose the bearings could be just real worn but it won't start even if I give it a spin.

The inside of your game is really bright, are you sporting a WBL or just a BL? Mine is much darker. Did Grant give you the repro bezel with the game? Extra repro film? I can't imagine his interest in doing more repro's will be there if he sold his game!

Nice score, can't wait to see the Tora Tora!

Once again, nice pickups Rick. I can't believe you're getting a Tora Tora? Sweet! That has some of the best artwork ever on a video game. Can't wait to see pics of that...

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you had a thing for war games. WW2 in particular.

I'm a big ww1 & 2 buff yes. What was your first clue? :)

I don't know about the BL I didn't think to look . It could be that one of our ceilng canned lights just happened to be shining down the front of the machine on the playfield. Extra repo film is comming and yes I have both marquees.

As far as the Tora Tora goes the art is what really made me want one. The Japanese Kate dive bombers with those big meatballs and the battle wagons all over it just look awesome I agree. In fact when mine arrives the pics on the VAPS will have to be updated as it appears that nice.
Tora Tora is just the thing for a WW2 nut :) Now to find that Flying Fortress...
