Picked up one of these for my game room at the last auction.

It was full of ancient gumballs that needed to be chipped out... finally got it clean! BUT, I have a couple of questions.
  • Where can I get gumballs?
  • Does anyone have the voice box for this?

I've checked Staples and Office Max, Fry's, and a couple of local places for gumballs. I don't have a Sam's or Costco card.

It's missing the voice box and I was hoping to find someone with some parts to put it back together. If not, does anyone have a voice box I could borrow to try and replicate?

Thanks!

If it uses the standard 1" gumballs, Sam's Club or BJ wholesale is probably your best bet for gumballs. You can find them slightly cheaper online but with shipping you come out ahead by buying them local.

You can also get somenbulk candy from Amazon.com. Not the best prices in the universe, but convenient. Also, do a Google search for bulk candy and you'll turn up a couple of options.

Good luck on the voice box. If you can't find something original, you can probably hack up something pretty cheap with boards from sparkfun to at least make it work.

I've had zero luck finding any info on the machine.

I'll probably look at some digital voice recording stuff like a Hallmark card that I can mod and shove in there.

Voice Box

Take a look on the Pheasant Run Shows Website. One of the Dealers sells all the suff you need for Gumball Hot Nut Machines. Locks, repro decals, parts. He had the voice boxes for the chicken machines. They looked like the same voice boxes found in the older dolls.

Scroll threw the dealer list.

Try gumballs.com.

A word of advice - make sure you get the right gumballs. Did any of the old ones come out intact? If they did, measure it.

I buy 1430 count gumballs for The Wacky Gumball Factory and Wowie Zowie - if I try to the 1" versions, they jam up the works.

The hole in the receiver should not be a snug fit for the gumball.

I think the collector who collects these things at the arcade I work at has one, or perhaps I saw one at the recent Peony Park auction.

Can you shoot some pictures of what is inside (or is all that missing, which is why you are asking?)
