I have been talking to an older operator for a very long time trying to buy his TOTAN pin he has had sitting at his house in pretty dang good shape for being routed for a while.

Anyways, I will be picking it up later tonight, unless he goes crazy on me. Thoughts on this pin as something to have in a collection? It is already in good shape and works, what would be a price paid on this? I know locally here the prices of pins, especially A list pins are a good chunk higher than boston pin or pinside at least.

P.s - Ill post and show what I got it for once I snag it tonight.

I think that would be a nice addition to your line up!

I played one for the first time at the PPE and it was fun, and was always in use!

I'd love to play one of these. Definitely a cool game. I say get it if you can.

It's a cool game - but most of the hardcore players/collectors don't like it -which is why I think it's strange that some people have been playing ~$5k or more for them. It always struck me as a $2800-$3200 game ...but that now seems to be the "beat up" price. If you can snag it for $3000 or less, that's the move!!!! $3500...you can probably still call it a "deal" in 2012: The Year of Stupid Pinball Prices.

I got it! Snagged it for $3,500 too!

Needs a quick wipe down and a couple bulbs out, which is no biggie. Overall game plays great, sideart and PF are very nice. I'm excited!

Op I got it from put a charge on his account at a supplier here locally for me to snag a new DMD tomorrow since this one is slowly going out. He's the man!

Great machine. I love mine.

Very nice machine. The LEDs are pretty cool! Haven't decided if I want to go that route yet.

Question: The 2 cages that trap the balls. What is supposed to activate those? Sometimes I do certain things and the guy talks and goes nuts and then one of them will go up and stay up until ball drains or I do something. Just seems odd

Hitting any of the 3 red targets on the left side of the machine will light the shooting star for about 10 seconds or so. If the ball finds its way to the outlane within those 10 seconds, that's when the cage will shoot up and prevent it from draining. The same goes for the right side with the red targets above the spinning lamp. They definitely shouldn't go up and stay up without the ball within them. What guy talks and goes nuts?

Is that an AVA vending sticker on your apron between the rules and price card? I have that same sticker on my Dr. Who and it looks to be a bitch to get off of there. I think they put it right ontop of the game sticker and them put clear plastic over it. :(

Yep, and trying to remove it will ruin the screened text below it. I thought it was gay too.

Really?

I took 20 year old tax stickers off my Shuttle that were on the apron and it didn't damage the art, but a little bit different I guess. They were the tamper resistant ones that leave behind the silver gummy lettering when you peel them off...I was able to remove it with a bit of alcohol. Was worried that it would lift the paint too but was very careful and it came right up.

If they covered it with plastic too, what a bunch of asshats. I would ask them to have someone come remove it. It's in your home, it's your property, they should've removed their ad prior to selling it. Just like I do not let a car dealer put their logo on my car. I already paid you the money, go to hell with your free advertising...

That's what I was afraid of. I hadn't tried it yet as I am still going through the game and getting everything good again. Bummer. Short of a new apron there probably isn't much that can be done. Is that text screened or is it a sticker? Wonder if someone sell apron decal sets.

They told me when I bought my pin from them that they recommended not trying to remove it as it would probably wreck things.

I guess it could be a decal. I just noticed on mine it seemed like raised ink.

Do any owners feel like this is a great "flow" game constantly interrupted by ball stoppers like the cages, bazaar and Genie? I need to play it more... I want to love it, but I'm torn.

My only real complaint is the lamp. It just seems to be in the way. You are more frustrated than satisfied when you hit it, especially when you are trying to hurl fireballs at the genie. The bazaar can be a little annoying at times as well, cuz if you look up at the DMD to see what's up, you sometimes miss the ball being shot back at you as it happens right when he is done talking, unless you get to choose a prize, in which case it waits.

I like the flow actually. All games are different. This game has some really great audio and an awesome story line. My fiance has no patience with pinballs so she loves it all, but says it is too slow because she doesn't care what happens in the game, just where the ball goes.

This game, to me, is really deep with a lot to do and that is why I am a big fan of it. If you want something overly fast and want to go on and on about flow, then I wouldn't get it. If you can appreciate the storyline and what is happening, then 100% you would love it.
