taking back what's mine.. Robotron House High Score.

Last August, a buddy of mine came down to my place and played my Robotron. He played it alot BITD, and with little effort at all, racked up a score of 120,600 points. I know that's probably not alot to the experts here, but it was a number I was sure could not hit as of last August..

I vowed I would beat that score and knock him out of the slot one day, and yesterday I finally did it. I racked up a high score of 129,700, surpassing his score by almost 10K. I am still in awe as to how it went down. I was on the brain board (Wave 5?) and I knocked out a cluster of brains early- as a result there were women everywhere on the board to be saved. I ran around like a freak grabbing as many of them as I could and next thing you know, my score had surpassed the high.

My buddy has assured me he will be back to attempt to take that score down once more. But for now, it's nice to savor the flavor. :D

129k at the end of a brain wave is a very good "Mikey trick" level score. even 100k at the end of wave 5 is honorable.

Nice work! now get to practicing on the wave 7 tanks and you'll be in contention. :)

Whoops almost forgot my POIDH!

that's the next plateau, but you guys are close to getting into the wave 12-17 plateau which sets you off an running to being an advanced player. keep up the good work!

wave 1 to 5 is the first plateau, then wave 7 tanks, then wave 9 grunts for a short bit until you learn to see openings and flutter fire. then you are up to the 12-17 waves which become really respectable scores.

The tank strategy is introduced here- http://www.robotron2084guidebook.com/?page_id=11
I go into detail about how to beat the tanks with some video and practice tips here- http://www.robotron2084guidebook.com/?page_id=22

It's a great game that requires practical practice and well, practice. Keep at it, you will be at 500,000 before you know it.

I've had Franklin and Gatordad at my place, both putting up 900k plus. A goal I may never reach!
