Where is a lot of these games from this time period? Games I'm talking about include: Marine Date, Indian Battle (new fav), Frogs and Spiders and Rock Climber....

According to Vaps..... some of the owners have very european names, sooooo I assume most of these didn't cross the pond? Or were some these titles have small production runs? Did Taito snub the US market?

I have Taito envy, and want to concrentrate collecting on Front line, Wild Western, Tin Star era,and knock those out first w/ the exception of Kram or EYY. Then work my way back to the Crazy Climber, Colony 7 and Polaris cab style. But the problem is the era before this, when some of these are really rare!

Anybody here have any of the titles mentioned above or even seen any of them in person? Even seen any parts?

My guess (and this IS a guess)......the early Taito years you speak of......Taito hadn't set up any USA offices or distribution. So, any operator (or distributor) that wanted one of those titles....had to have it shipped over from Japan. I'd say that was a pretty rare event.....especially, considering, nobody knew of those titles anyway (in the USA, that is).

This is very similiar to the early Nintendo titles (as well as Universal, and other Japanese manufacturers). Before Radar Scope, Nintendo had no USA office/disrtibution center. How many of these Nintendo titles have you seen in the USA: Computer Othello, Heli-Fire, Sheriff, Space Fever, Sky Skipper, Space Launcher, etc.
