Taito Trimline Space Invaders

Whoever can - please do so. Don't wait for someone else. :D

I have one that only has that problem. I originally installed a switcher and modified the board for the reset signal, but it kept having issues where it would freeze up after being on a few hours. Turn it off and back on and it worked again for a while. Tired of dealing with it and would rather put an original PS back in it...

I could use the PS board out of one of these if anyone has a working one...

This is slightly OT since it is from my donor cab but it is still clean-up/restore of Taito Trimline Space Invaders parts. Here is the before shot...

A dry cloth and a can of compressed air does wonders. Here is the after shot...

I only need the board (working) circled below inside the cage. I don't need the cage, transformer, etc...

Anyone know how to test the power to one of these pcbs? I have one that is dead and sitting in the wings until I can test the PS on this...

Very nice cabinet.

Just wondering about the glass, did you apply something to the back, like what's done with pinball backglasses with triple-thick, to help preserve it from flaking?

Also, are there lights behind the marquee below the control panel?

Thank you for the compliment.

I didn't apply Triple-Thick to preserve it for a few reasons. First, none of the store around me had it in stock (I didn't want to order it online). Second, I have never used it before so I didn't want to mess anything up. And third, because I wanted to test the stuff out on my super flaky old bezel. If everything goes well with that one then I may consider applying it to my nice bezel. I was told that since my replacement came from a local source and the machine was going to remain in a temperature-controlled enviroment that the bezel should have the flaking problems.

Yes there is a light fixture behind the marquee. I changed out the started and installed a white black light flourescent tube. It looks pretty cool.

Ordered some Krylon Triple Thick today. I will try it out on my old bezel and show the results here. Then I will decide if I will do my nice bezel. Stay tuned...
