Unfortunately, his SI multi-game manual says: "This kit only works on the Midway/Bally black and white style of space invaders which has the L-shapped boardset."

yeah that's what I thought but I thought it might be safe to double check.

It's the first vid I every played but something is attractive about a Trimline cab. I tried a Multigame solution at CAX and thought playing Lunar Rescue was pretty cool.

They're the bomb. I have one that's currently an Elevator Action and, with a little monitor work and a better EA control panel, will be a perfect mini.

Actually it will work on the Taito boardsets but takes some modification. I confirmed this with Scott a few months back. So you need to know how to solder if you want to do it.

that's cool... if he can walk me though what needs to be done I can jumper or modify as needed. Thanks for the tip. I emailed Scott.

Necro bumping. Anyone have a solid guide on how to do this on a trimline?

There is a Taito version.

@highscoreheroes confusing as description still says

What board types will this kit work with?

This kit (initially) only works for the Midway black and white monitor style game. The board set can be either Space Invaders or Space Invaders Deluxe. The board set consist of 2 pcbs in an L shaped configuration.

I hope to some day offer this kit for the Taito color monitor style game (3 pcb board set stack).

I'm not disagreeing, but providing the link. Notice Taito is specifically mentioned multiple times.

Yup....and read the customer comments...

Works with Taito 3 board Stack

Works on my upright Taito Trimline SI (cabaret). To test it I had to remove the CPU which was soldered in place and install a socket. Next place the CPU into the daughter board. Then I had to put some headers to give the daughter board clearance over nearby CAPs. In the cage box the board interferes with one of the two screwed bar posts so I had to remove one. I'll install a Easy Coin Up quarter pushbutton to get credit for the game that is not set for free play.

Looks like Joe needs to update his text.

Sorry, I'm not Joe. You need @HighScoreSaves. If I had known my username was so similar to an existing/established member I wouldn't have used the one I did back when I first signed up.

Hi. I know the last comment was over a year ago. I'm wondering if there are any updates? I currently have a 3 board Taito board set with the G and T edge board connectors. I emailed highscoresave.com to confirm this will work for me and if it comes with instructions. Has anyone with the same board set that I'm trying to upgrade had any success? I saw someone had some success with some modifications. I just want some more feedback and suggestions before I roll the dice. Thanks :)

The kits replace the 8080.
The 8080 is on the center board in 3-board stacks and is soldered in.

Even if you socket the 8080, a plug-in board won't fit between the boards in the stack in standard mounting cage.

I have the SI multi kit installed in my 3-board stack. Yes, you need to change the board spacing, and it's a bit of a PIA.
Do you have pictures of how this looks? I am considering buying a multi for the my SI Cabaret I just got.
