if a taito top board in a 3 layer stack has the Board ID TVO70001a / TVN00001a etched into the PCB (near the edge connector), does that mean it is a Space Invaders pcb set or a Space Invaders Part II ?

also I am looking at the taito & midway SI schematics to try and discern if the bit shifter ICs used are a distinguishing feature of space invaders & SI pt II boardsets (vs other older taito games) - ie whether the boards have
a) the big chip (MB14241 IC),
b) the 4x 25S10 ICs (plus 4 TTL ics on the motherboard), or
c) the 12 x TTL ics that do the same thing (8 are on the add on PCB, 4 on the motherboard)

does that help work out whic is which ?

anyone successfully use 74s350 ICs instead of 25s10 ICs on taito space invaders top boards ?

is http://www.arcadechips.com/ a good place to buy 25s10 / 74s350 ics ?
Anyone

Hmmm... here's a picture of a Part II set I sent down under earlier this year.
Hope this helps.

You know it would be cool if in the search option at the bottom of the forum here included a pic of the original board sets.
